Adults who have experienced a crime as an aggrieved person have many different questions and need different types of assistance. The various needs to be considered depend on their gender, but also on their age.

The information on this homepage applies generally to all adults. Depending on your age, you will find special information also for children and adolescents and for elderly persons.

Women affected by a crime can find special information on the homepage of the Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equal Opportunities of Lower Saxony (Niedersächsisches Ministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit und Gleichstellung). The List of Support Facilities includes specialised facilities which are listed under the keyword "Women". Disabled women and girls who have been a victim of violence can find information on the website suse - sicher und selbstbestimmt (safe, secure and autonomous).

Men affected by a crime can find special information in the List of support Facilities under the keyword "Men". Since August, the first online counselling services for men who have been a victim of violence i.e. of an attack or a fight, or the relatives of a man who has been a victim of violence have been online within the framework of a project of the Sozial- und Kriminalpräventiver Rat (SKPR) (Council for Social Issues and Crime Prevention) in Bielefeld and on the website Männerberatung man-o-mann, Bielefeld.
